Lost and Found
Travelers who lose personal items at MRY can inquire to different lost and found departments, depending on where the item was last seen.
Items Left on an Aircraft
Personal items left on board an aircraft are stored and maintained by the specific air carrier. Those items are not submitted to the Airport Lost and Found. Passengers must contact their airline directly to determine if the lost item is in their possession.
Items Left in Public Areas
For items lost in public areas, please fill out our Lost and Found Form or call (831) 333-2300.
If your call is not answered, please leave a detailed message that gives your:
- Name
- Phone Number
- Missing Item and Description
- Item’s Last Known Location
- The Time when the Item was Lost
We do not take custody of items left on an airplane (see above) or in vehicles such as rental cars, taxis or rideshares.
Lost and Found Office
The Monterey Regional Airport Lost and Found Office is located on the second floor of the terminal building in the Administration Offices.
Our business hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday.
Lost and Found Staff will secure all items found in public areas, including the terminal building, parking lots, the TSA Security Checkpoint, gate areas, and curbside. Our staff will make every effort to research and locate potential owners.
Claiming a Lost Item
You may arrange for the return of items by:
On-site pickup: If you properly identify items, you may pick them up during normal business hours. We require a picture ID at the time of pick up. Representatives of the owners may pick up items with proper identification and verified permission of owners.
Delivery by mail: With a FedEx or UPS account, the Lost and Found Office can prepare items for shipment Monday – Friday, before 3:00 PM each day. The owner will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the delivery, including creating and paying for the shipment order and sending the pre-paid label to airport staff.
